Kerry Pryor OAM

We are very proud to announce that Kerry Pryor has received  a Medal of the Order of Australia. Kerry came to Harar and Mizan Teferi in 2012 as a self funded  volunteer. She also independantly arranged functions to promote and support Eyes for Africa.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS from  the Eyes for Africa committee and support team.

Julie Tyers OAM

I am extremely proud to announce that I have been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen’s Birthday Awards list for my services to nursing and to international eye-health programs for Eyes For Africa’s work in Ethiopia.

I am honoured and humbled to have received this award and want to thank the Eyes For Africa team, as well as the many volunteers and supporters who have worked with me over the years, for making the work of EFA possible. So many people have assisted with their skills, time, passion and professionalism, as well as through donations of funding or equipment, enabling EFA to offer free eyesight restoration to some of the poorest of the poor in Ethiopia. I thank you all for your belief in our ability to change people’s lives.

In the past 11 years, EFA has been able to carry out sight-restoring cataract removal for more than 3000 people. I plan to continue this work for as many years as I am able.
